Garage Band is an effort to contribute to the development of American popular music. From the roots of Rock an' Roll and Jazz to the music of today, class participants will explore the repertoire that laid the groundwork for today's music. Though some historical context is necessary, the focus will be squarely on playing and understanding popular music.

Original musical ideas from students will also be incorporated into the class for study and development.
